creativity, and limitless possibilities.
As a former management consultant and computer scientist, my career has always revolved around solving complex problems. Several years ago, I founded a smart senior care company, believing technology could radically improve the quality of life for older adults. We developed smart home devices, health monitoring systems, and telehealth services, all in an effort to create a more convenient environment for aging.
However, after connecting with countless retirees, I recognized a deeper issue. A 78-year-old retired professor once told me:
“Brady, your devices work well, but they don’t solve the question I face every morning when I wake up—why should I get out of bed today?”
This statement completely transformed my perspective.
I realized that while technology can solve surface-level challenges in daily life, it cannot fill the emptiness many retirees feel inside. Before retirement, our time is consumed by work and responsibilities, leaving little opportunity to explore what we truly love. After retirement, we suddenly have abundant free time but often don’t know how to use this precious gift.
This insight reshaped my entrepreneurial mission. I no longer focus solely on using technology to solve practical difficulties but am dedicated to helping retirees rediscover their self-worth and life purpose. I believe retirement isn’t the end of life’s story, but rather a fresh beginning. With decades of accumulated wisdom and experience, combined with newfound freedom of time, this is a golden combination filled with limitless possibilities.
Today, we focus on helping seniors uncover long-buried interests, learn new skills, build new social circles, and transform their rich life experiences into social value. Our goal is to create a platform where every retiree can find their own “second life.”
My entrepreneurial journey has shifted from focusing on technology to focusing on the human heart, from solving problems to creating possibilities. And in this process, the seniors I hope to serve have become not just my users, but my most important teachers and partners.
